Is it bad to buy make-up products online?

I want to buy some Laura Mercier skin creme but there are no Laura Mercier counters near me. I was wondering if I should buy it online. Is it bad to buy things online? Also, on Ebay they sell BH cosmetic palettes and I was wondering if its bad to buy off of Ebay. Any help or advice would be appreciated!
