Nervous about labor and delivery?

i am 39 weeks today and iv been having some problems with my blood pressure and also with my feet swelling so bad that im getting blisters on my feet....anyway i have an appointment today and im telling my doctor i want to be induced but im really scared...i always hear these bad things about labor and delivery and i understand that it hurts its just a little over whelming now its so close and im hoping my doctor will induce me? does being induced hurt more which i was told it does and does anyone have any good stories about labor thank you
