IUD pains??

I have 3 children. Had them pretty close together. They are ages 3,4,5, if that helps you realize how close!! I got an IUD after my last son was born. My ?tion is is that every now and then I get the MAJOR pains / cramps / shooting pains in my well area and the shooting pains shoot down to my women parts. My mother thinks its from this stinkin IUD, I think it may be from having kids so close together. What do you think? I just got off my period, like a week ago and the pains usually do come afterwards. Not every month but sometimes. I can barely walk, I feel nausias bc the pain gets so bad.
