If you fix formula for a baby and you bring it with you to the doctor, will it be good without refrigeration?

My girlfriend and I wanted to know this b/c some ppl say that if you fix the formula and not refrigerate it it will spoil. Is this true or can we bring along formula that has been prefixed for the baby when we go for check ups?
