How much would it cost to buy a new transmission for 1998 mercury mystique?

i am 18 i need a car and dont want to spend alot of money on one my mom has a mercury mystique she does not drive and it had problems and i think it needs a new transmission and rear view mirror would it cost alot to replace both of theses?
